Information

Growers Wine Group is committed to managing all aspects of operations in an environmentally responsible manner.

As a Company we undertake to;

  • Prevent pollution from occurring from our activities and operations.

  • Conduct operations in compliance with local environmental regulations and legislation

  • Educate our employees and contractors on their environmental responsibilities and ensure this is integrated into their work practices, training and decision making

  • Continually improve the environmental performance of our company

To help improve our environmental performance, we have a 15ha tree lot / cropping area that we irrigate with our wastewater under a plan fully approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. The objectives of our Wastewater Irrigation Plan are as follows;

  • Utilise winery wastewater for the production of summer and winter cropping and timber for harvest and reuse

  • Maximise organic carbon, nutrient and salt removal through the growth of suitable crops and application of suitable cropping practices

  • Minimise soil degradation and damage by using sustainable irrigation application rates, based on soil limitations and crop requirements

In our irrigation area we are implementing planting 700 trees per year from 2020 to 2023.

This is Australia’s national program for grape growers and wineries to demonstrate and show commitment to continually improving sustainability practices through environmental aspects of their business.

Sustainability is the direction Growers Wine Group is moving forward with. There is momentum gaining worldwide for net zero targets and we want to give our customers confidence in purchasing wines produced by us that are sustainably certified.
